ryleigh h: chs class of 2023 senior

We’ve been planning Ryleigh’s senior portrait session for a while. She and her mom came into the studio over the summer for a consult that was more socializing and less business talk, which is exactly what I prefer.

I wasn’t just meeting Ryleigh that day. I’ve known her since she was little and she’s even been a member of my rep team. But the socializing aspect of the consult lets me focus all of my attention on my client. To learn more about them and what they like and don’t like. It helps me begin to build a better session for them in my mind.

That day she told me that it was important for her to have her mom in some of her senior portraits, which is something I always encourage. Ryleigh’s journey to senior year needs to be applauded, but also her mom deserves recognition for her efforts in helping her get to this place in life!

She knew what outfits she wanted to wear and trusted me to come up with locations that would work well.

Thankfully, she didn’t bat an eye at any of the places I took them.

She did mention going back to a place where we did family photos with her family a few years ago, and I was more than happy to oblige. It’s my favorite place to photograph in all of Carlinville!

The light there is always stunning, morning or afternoon!

We rounded out this fun session on a beautiful afternoon at CHS. Which I always think is apropos considering that her senior year, and the reason for the session is happening within the walls of this very building!
