I've never been very comfortable in front of the camera. Which probably explains why I spend so much time behind it...

Welcome, I'm Carrie Harris and I have been working as a freelance food and lifestyle photographer as well as the editor/publisher of A SWEET SPOT: HOME, a food and food photography blog, since 2010. Over the past 5 years, I've had the privilege of working with a large variety of businesses. From large, nationally known corporations to small family businesses to start-up companies, I've worked with them all. Each project brings with it fresh, new challenges that keep my job exciting. My personal style for food photography is a look that is simple and clean without a lot of fuss, but I'm always willing to explore new ideas.

Food photography has brought me a lot of business and has allowed me to work with some fantastic people and businesses, but after doing just food photography for 5 years, I decided I wanted to branch out and try to do more. When considering what my next step would be, I quickly realized that I wanted to add lifestyle photography to my resume. I've been chasing my family members around for a long time with a camera and I found that my favorite photos of them were always the ones where they were just being themselves, doing what they do where they're most comfortable. Images of people just being themselves always strike a real chord with me. For some reason, I'm fascinated with images that portray exactly what someone looked like at a specific moment in time. Whether it's someone in a beautiful surrounding or a child in the middle of their disastrous bedroom, these are the images that resonate with me.

While currently based in the St. Louis area, I'm available to travel for exciting projects, schedule permitting. If you'd be interested in working together on a project, I'd love to hear from you. You can always reach me through my contact page.
