traditional family portraits at CHP
traditional may be the wrong word.
Our family portraits are definitely not traditional. Sure, you’ll get a few nice images of your family lined up and properly posed. But what really excites us when it comes to family portraiture is capturing the interaction between family members. Getting to the heart of who you are and how you are together as a unit.
Does that mean that I sometimes ask you weird questions in order to generate authentic responses? It does.
Does that mean that I’ll have you do things like “Monkee” walking and sometimes even “drunk” walking? I do, and if you book a family session, you’ll find out what those mean.
Do I spend a lot of time following younger children around and just letting them do their thing? I do, because that is where the authentic expressions can be found. That is how we’re going to document the child that you know and want to remember forever.

As a photographer, I work quickly anyway. But, I know that family sessions are more fun for some than they are for others. So, a CHP family session generally lasts between 30-60 minutes.

Prints are always included in my photography packages! (With the exception of headshots and mini sessions.) How many prints you want is up to you. I offer both print packages and a la carte ordering.

Once we’ve scheduled your session, we will arrange a pre-session consult to go over the specifics of your session. This can be done in person at the studio or over the phone. On session day, after we’ve completed your session, we will arrange a time within one week to get together and view your gallery. At that meeting, if you’re ready to order, we will set up your print product order. If you need more time to process and decide, that can be arranged as well. You should have your print products within one week of ordering.

A $100 session retainer is required upon the booking of a session date in order to hold your space on my calendar. The balance of your session is due by the session date. Any additional print product costs can be paid prior to ordering.
