CHS Senior: Claire B

Back again with what is most definitely one of my favorite senior sessions in a while. If I was designing a session for myself, it would look a lot like Claire’s senior session that we did in late November.

Even though the leaves had mostly fallen from the trees, and the weather was a bit chilly, we created an amazing portfolio that I think represents who Claire is as a creative individual.

We began her session at CHS, which never fails to impress, regardless of the season. I always love to include the high school in senior sessions because without it, would we even be doing senior sessions? Nope.

So, after lots of great portraits at the high school showcasing Claire as a talented member of the CHS golf team, we headed off to our next location.

Hudson Hall on the campus of Blackburn College is my favorite building in all of Carlinville. Give me Hudson over the courthouse any day of the week. (Although the courthouse is definitely in second place for me.) Want to feel like you’ve been transported to New England? Go check out Hudson Hall.

We utilized the fallen leaves on the grounds of Blackburn to give Claire’s session the fall vibes it deserved. Even after the leaves fall, don’t think your chance for a fall session has passed.

Our final location took us to an open field space that I love. The green and brown and endless skies makes it one of my favorite places to photograph. This day, though, the wind was battling us. So, on days like this, the more natural candid photos are going to be your best friend. Embrace the imperfect (but I argue you should always embrace the imperfect) hair and all of the other things that come with photographing in breezy conditions.

I had a great time photographing Claire and spending time with her and her mom. I love hearing about the plans she’s making for her future and can’t wait to hear where life takes her after her days at CHS have come to a close!
