The time when a new class of senior sessions begins is always so exciting for me. I’ve spent my “off season” learning, planning, and prepping to begin photographing a new group of seniors. The clients are always so excited because they’re still really happy to be seniors, and the senioritis hasn’t kicked in yet.

I especially love it when I get to photograph my rep team members. It’s always super comfortable because they’ve been in front of my camera before and we’ve gotten to know each other, at least a little bit.

This is why Bri’s senior session was a perfect storm of fantastic for me. We. had a lovely evening, perfect company, and we were prepped and ready when session day rolled around.

We started her session with a few in-studio shots. I always love when clients are willing to allow for a little in-studio time on their session day. The look of studio portraits is very different from outdoor photography and I like the variety that it brings to a session when we mix the two.

Our little community has so many wonderful spots for portraits. I say it to all of my clients and I’ll say it here as well though, location matters very little to me. If I have my choice of a stunning location with bad light or a more plain location with gorgeous light, I’ll take the gorgeous light every single time. Don’t overthink locations, let me help you sort that part out.

See? Gorgeous light.

Gorgeous light.

Gor. geous. light.

Add in a few of the activities that Bri loves the most, and you’ve got a lovely, well rounded senior session filled with images that show the amazing person she actually is.

I’m so glad that Bri and her family chose me to be her senior photographer, and I’m beyond happy that she chose to join the CHP Rep Team this year. I can’t wait to be able to photograph her this year for prom, and, one of my favorite rep sessions of the year, the senior cap and gown sessions!
