Every August, I know that I'll be doing one very special portrait session with these two crazies.
And it's probably the most challenging session I do all year.
Not challenging in a bad way, but challenging as a photographer because I'm used to being the director, but when these girls are around, I'm just the woman with the camera. They have ideas, props, poses in mind. They have images that they re-create year after year and never want to forget. There's a story behind most of their poses and a reason they want to do it.
But when you've been friends as long as these two have, that's to be expected. They're less like friends and more like sisters...and for two girls who have only brothers, that's alright! They both walk around each other's homes like it's their second home. They love each other. They drive each other crazy...they're a lot like sisters.
Even though Ryleigh is a senior this year, and will be graduated for their next BFF session, they've already decided it's still going to happen.
Which is awesome. In fact, I think they even mentioned continuing the tradition until they're bringing their own children to it....
Which seems impossible because they're both only 8 years old now, right???? It seems like that should be right.
